Questions for the Artist Andreas Peters
What keeps you coming back to the camera?
It’s just who I am. I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember, across many different mediums. Beyond photography, my journey has included painting, drawing, writing books, coding games, and publishing magazines.
To create something entirely new, be it in its aesthetic or its message, is an incredibly fulfilling process. It’s a way for me to be truly at one with myself, and perhaps bring a little joy to others along the way.
What emotion do you want to evoke in the viewer?
Well, I do create detailed worlds made of shapes and light, but I believe everyone should explore and experience them for themselves.
Naturally, it’s a beautiful thing to trigger emotions and move people to stop, wonder, and just stay a while. But whatever someone feels, whatever it stirs up in them, is right and beyond question.
Their experience might be completely different from my own vision, and that’s absolutely fine. Abstract stays abstract.

Backpacker and World Traveler
Author Andreas Peters
Andreas is also an author. As a backpacker he traveled the world twice. His book On the Art of Wanting Nothing is a philosophical travelogue. He says:
“Don’t want anything, take what comes and live in the moment.” That was my idea for a backpacking trip to get to know the cultures of North and Latin America and to interview people like you and me about this topic and their lives . I came across some dazzling and interesting personalities and a colorful philosophical and spiritual journey developed – worthwhile for every reader.
Exploring our world, people, colors and landscapes… this is on my mind while i’m doing my art.
My travels, the book as a result, are a major part in my work.
